This is a full-time, permanent role at the Lake Grassmere Site near Blenheim. You will be part of the Project and Process Management Team and play a crucial role in monitoring and improving this seaside harvesting and manufacturing site. The role is full-time and permanent, and you will mainly work on-site, with some flexibility with hours or working from home on occasion.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • To identify and manage process improvement to ensure the operation of all production plants.
  • To plan and provide forward notice for replacement of company capital items and equipment.
  • To manage contractors (principals and employees).
  • To ensure all company procedures and policies are followed.
  • To assist with the management of capital projects as required by the Project/Technical Manager and Site Manager.
  • To encourage excellence in staff relations by promoting positive and fair relations with all employees.
  • To ensure statutory requirements are fulfilled for your areas of responsibility.
  • To ensure all opportunities to promote improvement of the company are taken.

We will be looking for a self-motivated professional with the ability to multi-task and a belief in doing the job safely. You will also need to demonstrate an organised and forward-thinking work style and be a real team player.

The following skills and experience are required:

  • 3-5 years’ suitable experience in a food, chemical or similar manufacturing environment (less experience will be looked at favourably for candidates with the right skill set)
  • A suitable engineering tertiary qualification (i.e. Process or Chemical Engineering or similar)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety systems in an industrial or construction environment
  • Process improvement (Lean) knowledge is required.
  • Project management and capital works implementation
  • Practical and analytical skills capable of producing fast, accurate decisions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with good personal discipline
  • Proven ability to cooperate with people across the business and get buy-in
  • Strong commitment to teamwork
  • Positive attitude to cost-effective performance
